Part 1 begins with the fifth degree and works backward to the first, then part 2 starts over with the fifth degree and proceeds in the same manner. The structure of the volume is complex: it is split into two parts, each of which is further divided into five subsections, called “degrees.” The degrees in each part appear in reverse numerical order.
